Come & Find the Quiet Center - A Prayer for Camp

God,

You have given us a purpose. You have given us breathe and life. You have given us yourself. Help us to now give of ourselves and to do so with generous hearts.

As we gather over the next few days, we pray that our hearts will be open to your presence and that we will radiate your love in everything we do. When our energy levels decrease, remind us of your living, refreshing waters - the same waters that cleansed our hearts and that now coarse through your creation. Just as those waters give life to the trees surrounding us, give us life that can be spent sharing your love.

As the campers make their way to this sacred place, we ask that you watch over them and allow them to arrive safely. As they prepare for the week ahead, may they do so with eager hearts and great joy. We pray that every single camper that crosses through this gate will feel loved, welcomed, and embraced as a child of God.

Church camp is such a sacred experience and we pray that each and every person here will be able to take away a new understanding of you. Watch over each of them throughout this week and shower them with your love.

As counselors and mentors, we pray that every single thing we do will bring each of us, especially our campers, closer to you and maybe, just maybe, we can become glimpses of Christ to one another.

Thank you for this community that so faithfully and intentionally comes together to share the light of Christ. Thank you for these beautiful camp grounds and this picturesque scenery that leave us breathless and in awe of your capable hands. Thank you for leaving your fingerprints on this place.
May the fingerprints that we leave in return be the work of your hands.

Amen.
